State Identification Number 1099, 1099-B, 1099-G, 1099-INT

On 1099 information returns, filers are required to enter their state identification numbers. Whether you’re filling out 1099-MISC, 1099-B, 1099-G, or 1099-INT, you must enter the state identification number. However, this is for entering your business state identification number. The Internal Revenue Service requires these information returns (1099s) to be sent to state tax departments. So, you must enter your state tax identification number so that the agency knows who’s filing it.

On Box 17 of information returns, make sure to enter your business state identification number. You will have to correct the form otherwise. Below, you can get the sources to fill out Forms 1099.

1099-NEC Instructions
